Learn how to turn a daytime scene into a moonlit one and change the mood of your photos. In this step-by-step tutorial, Unmesh Dinda from PiXimperfect shows you how to to use simple adjustment layers to create advanced lighting effects.

Unmesh simulates moonlight by manually painting the highlights and shadows. Next, he creates atmosphere  by using Color Lookup tables, and adds drama by using fundamental dodging and burning.

He puts a final polish on the image by adding overlays that mimic fog or mist, and applies color grading to create a realistic and believable effect.
