We don’t know about you, but we think Valentine’s Day card designs need more personality. We’re over the safe and tried messages Hallmark feeds us. We want passion. We want drama. We want messages between the lines. This year we asked New Yorker cartoonist, animator and comics maker Sofia Warren to draw us a little Valentine’s using her new Wacom Cintiq 16. We gave her no instructions and simply asked her to have fun. Check out her little process video below.

We think adding inside jokes, anecdotes, voice, and personal style makes all the difference in these types of designs. Not to mention the crazy merit points you’ll score by turning something casual and ordinary into something special and truly memorable.
